A consumer who decided to become self-sufficient because the quality of crops that she buys in the shops cant be checked experienced repeated setbacks when she was using common growing mediums. With the advice from Canna she tried her luck with coco slabs. Although I have already cultivated a number of crops, I must admit that I am still perplexed when it comes to growing. When I used soil, things kept going wrong all the time. First I watered too much, then too little... These problems have since disappeared now that I grow my plants in CANNA COCO. I'm living proof that coco substrate is "Idiot proof."

The people of the grow shop "Grow Center" in Zurich do not mince matters. The pots with the cuttings, some of them in full bloom, are clearly visible from the street. A cutting costs fifteen to twenty francs (about seven pounds) and is somewhat older than the ones you can generally purchase in the Netherlands. The range of varieties measures up to that of many Dutch grow shops. Trials with three different types of growing substrates, i.e. pu-slabs, coco and rock wool, are set up in the spacious basement. It is a remarkable fact that among Swiss growers the coco slab from CANNA is the most popular growing medium by far. "It is simply the easiest substrate to use, even someone with the least experience can get going right away and the harvest is certainly as good as with other mediums. Moreover, it is eco-friendly, which is very important to us Swiss" explains shop manager Jürg. "In the Netherlands you still use rock wool, don't you?" he adds sarcastically with a grin.
