Going Worldwide

Within two years, Canna's fame had also penetrated to many foreign countries, first to England and Germany, but from 1994 onward, to many other countries. At present, top results are being achieved with Canna products in fourteen countries throughout the whole world.

Sharing Knowledge

A milestone was reached in 1994 with the issue of the Canna Info Courier, a luxuriously produced series of brochures in which the most common plant deficiency sicknesses were extensively dealt with. A possession for life in the library of many growers. Indirect marketing, but also an expression of Canna's mission to raise home growing to a higher level.

Revolution with coconut

After an extended research period that was begun in 1993, Canna caused a small revolution within the grow-branch in 1996. With the sensational new coconut substrate Canna Coco, Canna has not only created the conditions for a better horticultural result than was feasible on mineral wool, but also the naturally recyclable substrate has brought an environmentally friendly hydro-culture system within reach. Canna Coco and the nutrient line developed to go with it was, in the first instance, enthusiastically received in the German-speaking countries in particular. But the sceptical Dutch growers also quickly changed their minds. Other producers followed Canna's example and at present countless experts are of the opinion that the future of growing will be coloured coconut brown.

The awesome richness of nature...

continues to surprise Canna's researchers. This surprise explains our modest attitude towards the ingenious complexity of Mother Nature, upon which everything depends. Like no others, Canna researchers realize that 'the more you know, the more you realize how little you actually know'. It comes as no surprise that Canna's scientific curiosity often leads its staff into interesting byways. In addition to intensive research in the area of plant diseases, this has also led to the acquisition of extensive knowledge of the influence of fungal and bacterial cultures in horticulture.

Aside from scientific investigation in support of commercial activities, some pure scientific investigation is also undertaken. Also in this, Canna plays a pioneering role. Of particular importance for the future is Canna's continuous research into plants with (undiscovered) medicinal qualities, an area in which the research team finds a continuous source of inspiration.

COGR consists of a specially formulated mixture of coco husks, coco fibre and coco granulate. This medium offers the advantage that it is aerated, therefore, making it easier to control. This results in faster root development and a higher yield! COGR is compressed and dried, for easy transportation and storage. This makes it ideal for the more professional grower. Three revolutionary fertilising products have been developed especially for use with COGR: COGR Buffer Agent, COGR VEGA and COGR FLORES. These products provide the plant with optimal conditions for rooting, growth and bloom.
